Irish Funds Financial Literacy TY Programme: Brand New School and Positive Feedback

Last week we completed two very interactive classes with two great industry leads. We delivered sessions to over 40 students throughout the week and received some very positive feedback from schools we had previously completed.

Colaiste Mhuire A.G.

We had our first session in Cork last Monday led by Peter Higgins (Clearstream) and, Eibhlin Johnston, our programme facilitator, where the students asked all the hard questions. They were very competitive during our Kahoot’s and are very excited to start their portfolios. They discussed asset management and pensions, and it was clear the students began to understand and really engage with the content. The students are also very excited to complete the final module in the Clearstream office in Cork in the coming weeks.

Colaiste na Reachrann

In this session, Eibhlin was joined by Veronica Wier (Pinebridge) who discussed her background in working in the United States and London. The students were very interested this and the career opportunities in the financial sector. Following this, we discussed the Central Bank of Ireland and certain investment restrictions in the market. We also looked at the performance of their portfolios.

Feedback on the Programme

Recently, we reviewed feedback reports from schools that have completed the programme and are pleased to report we have received an overwhelmingly positive response from both students and teachers. We received a 90% satisfaction rate with our course delivery and 80% satisfaction rate on the materials. It takes an army to put on a programme like this and it is so rewarding to see the benefit people have found and the ways we can improve.

Thank You and Looking Ahead

We would like the thank everyone involved in delivering this course and Deloitte for making our continual improvement possible. We are completing four sessions this week, including a brand-new class in Castletroy and we look forward to the busy week ahead.
