Funds Industry Climate Challenge Winners Announced at the Irish Funds Annual Global Funds Conference

Everyone from the Funds Industry has a central role to play in the fight against climate change, so Green Team Network organised the second Funds Industry Climate Challenge this year between 22 April and 6 May.

The aim of the challenge is to inspire and educate staff from the participating companies, by highlighting and celebrating the many small steps that each of us can take in our daily lives to reduce our carbon footprints.

Announced at the Irish Funds Annual Global Funds Conference on 22 May, congratulations to the Funds Industry Climate Challenge winners. Twelve exceptional teams and individuals from the Irish funds and asset management industry were celebrated for their remarkable efforts in reducing carbon footprints.

Engaging over 2,900 employees across 26 companies, the 2024 challenge was organised by the Green Team Network in partnership with Global Action Plan Ireland.

Nearly 300,000 climate-friendly actions have been logged within the 2-week challenge, which equals 280 tonnes of CO2 savings, a more than 60% increase compared to last year.

Congratulations to this year’s winners:

• Overall winner of the challenge with the highest CO2 reduction per person: Innocap

• ‘Service Provider’ category: 1st place: The Panel, 2nd place MUFG Investor Services

• ‘Professional Services’ category: 1st place: Kroll, 2nd place: Climate Collaborators

• 'Manager’ category: 1st place: BlackRock, 2nd place: GemCap

• Best Participation Award: Mercer

• Individual Climate Champions: Mina Dawood, LK Shields, Aoife Kearney, Neuberger Berman , Suzanne Cashin, Climate Collaborators and Adrienn Illes, Irish Funds.
